WOODZ's Enlistment Journey as Military Band Member

Korean military service enlistment training is a rigorous and highly structured process, designed to transform civilians into disciplined soldiers, ready for the demands of the military. All Korean men except those who have special conditions must enlist when reaching a certain age. Singers, actors, or anything should immediately enlist even when they are at the peak of their career if they reached the limited age for enlisting.

Woodz started his enlistment on January 24th of this year. After enlisting, he undergoes a lot of training for example, when conscripts first arrive at their training bases, they undergo an intense and often physically challenging boot camp. The training begins with orientation, where new recruits are introduced to military discipline, regulations, and the basic structure of the armed forces. Recruits are taught how to wear the uniform properly, salute, and adhere to the military's strict hierarchy. The focus during the initial days is on instilling a sense of unity and discipline among the group, which is crucial for the cohesive functioning of the military. During the first two weeks of this period of training, his access to hir phone is also limited so he can focus on the training only.

There is a lot more training that he had to undergo before being able to get discharged such as weaponry training, physical training, marching and responding training, etc. But, Woodz is not just some regular soldier in the military, during his enlistment period he became a military band member and gets to perform at several places with his fellow bandmates. With his band, he did a lot of busking and formal performances under the military. He became one of the vocalists of the band along with VICTON’s Seungsik with N.Flying’s Cha Heon as their bassist making three of them being actual professional musicians on the military band.

The military band also made YouTube video contents, they even made a cover of Woodz’s song ‘Journey’ and uploaded it on YouTube. There’s also contents like ‘Army Voice’ a dupe of Dingo’s ‘Killing Voice’, but with the military members as the guests and of course Woodz performed there too.

On September 19th, VICTON’s Seungsik and N.Flying’s Cha Heon discharged from the enlistment leaving Woodz alone as the only celebrity on the military band currently. And with Seungsik discharged, he became the military band’s current main vocalist. His love for music shows really clearly, even when he’s enlisting he still manages to do music by becoming a military band member, some people even said that his vocal ability has been improved even more ever since he joined the military band. Lately, captured by fans who came to one of his busking, Woodz seems to have a bulkier body that he was before, being healthy and getting to meet some of his fans that are also enlisting at the same time with him really brings the glow in his face from happiness and makes him looks brighter.
